‘Temple Grandin’ Honored With Peabody Award
More than a year after premiering on HBO, a biopic about autism self-advocate Temple Grandin will pick up a Peabody Award.
The film “Temple Grandin” will be among 39 works from 2010 to receive awards at a ceremony in May.
The Peabody Awards, handed out by the University of Georgia’s Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication, are the oldest honor in broadcasting and recognize excellence in television, radio and the web.

“In this movie biographical film from HBO, Temple Grandin’s life is testament to the power of the human spirit and proof that that spirit comes in many versions,” said Horace Newcomb, director of the Peabody Awards, in announcing that “Temple Grandin” would be among this year’s recipients.
This is just the latest honor for the film, which previously garnered seven Emmy awards, a Golden Globe and a Screen Actors Guild award.
Other 2010 Peabody Award winners include National Public Radio, “The Good Wife” on CBS and “Justified” on FX.
