Target Expands Sensory-Friendly Offerings
With an eye toward inclusivity, Target is rolling out a new collection of sensory-friendly products featuring everything from weighted blankets to floor cushions and chairs.
The offerings unveiled this month are part of Target’s Pillowfort brand. Each of the items in the sensory-friendly collection is designed to meet kids’ needs in a stylish and affordable way while being easy to keep clean, the retailer said.
Pieces include a rocking chair to appease children who like to move when sitting at the table, soft floor cushions with interesting textures for sensory exploration and a crush pad for jumping, rolling and relaxing.

Target already sells sensory-friendly and adaptive apparel. The company said that the move to add the 20-piece assortment of home products is an extension of that effort.
“We want all guests to feel welcome and included at Target,” said Julie Guggemos, senior vice president of owned brand management and product design at Target. “With our Cat & Jack and Universal Thread adaptive and sensory-friendly apparel, we’ve seen that little details can have a huge impact. I’m so proud to bring that spirit of inclusivity and incredible design to Pillowfort’s new sensory-friendly assortment, which hopefully can bring more ease and joy to our guests’ everyday lives.”
All of the items in the new collection are available online and are “significantly more affordable” than most similar offerings on the market, Target said, with prices starting at $20. None of the products in the line cost more than $100.
More products are expected to be added to the collection this summer.
