Netflix is ordering up more episodes of a series about the experiences of a teen with autism and his family.
The streaming service said this week that it will renew “Atypical” for a second season.

After launching with an eight-episode first season, Netflix said it will increase the show’s presence to 10 episodes for the upcoming run. A premiere date for the new season has not been disclosed.
“Atypical” stars Keir Gilchrist as Sam alongside Jennifer Jason Leigh and Michael Rapaport as the teen’s parents.
Michelle Dean, a professor of special education at California State University Channel Islands, has worked with the show to help ensure an accurate portrayal of autism, Netflix said.
