The adaptive products include magnetic closures so that they can be put on and taken off more easily and they have received the Gamut Seal of Approval, meaning that the garments have met certain requirements established by disability experts.
“At Victoria’s Secret & Co., we believe that diversity, equity and inclusion is everything and we’re committed to ensuring we embed (diversity, equity and inclusion) into all facets of our business,” said Lydia Smith, chief diversity officer for the company. “This commitment shows up in our dedication to creating products that support our customers and their unique abilities, sizes, body types and life stages.”
The adaptive collection will be unveiled as part of a New York Fashion Week show held by Runway of Dreams, a nonprofit that works to make fashion accessible for people with disabilities.
Victoria’s Secret said that bras and panties with adaptive features will be available for purchase later this fall on the company’s website and in select stores.
